Music for MIRACLES

Majority of the responsibility of organizing this event is taken by the students who are in the age group of 14 to 18 under the guidance of Mrs. Manjusha Hardiker. Fundraising workshops are conducted by parents to guide them to reach out to maximum people and inform them about the concert and it’s cause. The event is also promoted through interviews on various Radio channels by students. All these activities are helping them in developing vital communication and leadership skills that they will cherish and will continue to implement in their other endeavors.

In 2016, Surdaan Foundation is formed by senior students of Alaap School of Music, which is founded by Mrs. Manjusha Hardiker in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Hardiker is a disciple of  Late Pandit Chandrakant Apte from Gwalior gharana and Pandit Pritam Bhattacharjee from Mewati gharana.  Under her guidance, high school going kids organize a fund-raising event mostly for the kids.  A small effort started few years back continue to grow. Surdaan Foundation is now a registered NGO in USA. Donating in India would not have been possible without a strong support by IDRF. They have provided a hassle-free platform to both donors from USA as well as beneficiaries in India.      

 As Mother Teresa once said, “It is not how much we give but how much love we put in giving” Surdaan continues to love in giving, bringing smiles on innocent faces, and creating miracles through Music. . Music is a passion for all these kids and so came the idea of organizing a musical program. The joy of giving back to society using their talent was beyond words. This is how the journey of Surdaan, Music for Miracle started.
